Game Info:
When the first JC was released a few years ago, I thought it was one of the worst games that was released on the PS2 and vowed to never play it again, but when I downloaded the demo for Just Cause 2 when it was released last year my mindset on the Just Cause series changed for the better! The whole game is incredible! The story puts you in the shoes of "The Agency" operative Rico "Scorpio" Rodriguez as he is sent to the tropical isle of Panau to take care and somewhat dismantle the dictatorship of a government that runs it. The story mode itself is one of the longest I have played for an action-adventure game with a GTA like sort of atmosphere of getting a 100% completion, which like GTA takes a while in this game. The animation of the game was created by Square Enix while Avalanche studios created the actual game play engine including the epic parachuting and adrenaline filled game play. Everything is what I like about this game there is nothing I can really dislike about this game besides the somewhat terrible and clique cutscenes that were put into the story mode. But there are many things to like about the game from its many kilometers of free roam to the ability to be able to roam around the map and not have to constantly do story missions. The cool concept of JC2 is that there is some much action stuff to do it makes you feel as if your the star of your own action game or movie. Many people try to compare JC2 to many things but the simplest way of doing it is comparing to both games and movies like so: James Bond meets XxX meets the GTA series.

"There are plenty of games that attempt to make you feel like the star of your own action movie, but few have done it with as uproariously fun results as Just Cause 2. Or with explosions as big and as frequent for that matter." - Tech Digest
"Just Cause 2 is just as enjoyable as it looks. Although the game has a few annoying problems to speak of, this stunt-filled affair is one of the best open-world games I've played in a long time. The action is spectacular, the game world is tremendous and enemies can be tackled in a seemingly infinite number of ways. This is a title that every gamer with a taste for action should play." - IGN PS3 review.
What I Think:
About a week after the game was released on March 23,2010 I decided to buy Just Cause 2 after falling in love with the demo and this was one of those games that after I had played it for a little bit I had realized that it was definitely worth the $50 to keep the game! Not only does the intense amount of area in the map allow the free roam to not bore a player, but the different things to do that somewhat connect to the story definitely make the story mode even interesting. JC2 is a game that would attract all types of action players, including adrenaline junkies and explosion junkies, for JC 2 has plenty of both! Although in my mind the story is somewhat terrible in how it is structured and how the cutscenes were poorly designed, but once you get over that minor matter the game itself is truly incredible. Got it exactly a year ago and I'm still playing it on a regular basis to get the thrills of adrenaline out of it ! For a free roaming, open world, action-adventure Just Cause 2 clearly defines what the genre should be and for that I give a definite 100% and 10/10.
