Shaq Fu

Game Info/Structure:

Created in 1994, Shaq Fu puts the player in the shoes of professional Basketball player Shaquille O'Neal as he is teleported to a different world where he is set to fight against some of the deadliest warriors in the world to prove he is the ultimate fighter and also to rescue an old kung-fu master's son that has been taken to the world and become possessed. The game doesn't have any real free roam and has the same system as Mortal Kombat with the 2 fighters on one screen with the HUD set up with the health at the top. The game has a difficulty system intergrated into it to make it easier for new or experienced players to make it a fun and also challenging experience for every time of player. The graphics and gaming engineering was created by a company during the "Sega era" and was the main designer of the game. The music in the game is alright, at best... but it isn't the greatest there's only a few songs in the game that tend to not get annoying after 2 minutes. But even though the game's screenshots may seem like it looks good, the game is actually very bad and can be a very demanding game to be for many Sega gamers.

What Others Think:

"To say that Shaq Fu is bad is like calling genocide 'a little naughty'. I'm not kidding, this game frequently appears on lists of the worst games ever, and there is even an entire website dedicated to finding and purchasing every single copy of the game and then destroying them."

"This is, hands-down, the worst fighting game I have played in my life. Every single thing that could possibly be wrong about the gameplay manages to be spectacularly wrong, from the controls, the way you execute special moves, the health bar, everything." - www.questionablefilms.com/articles_shaqfu.html

What I Think:

So as you can see the game is generally hated by about every Sega gamer in the world for it's unfair fighting system/ A.I and the ability to not be able to properly execute any special moves and/or combos. I believe this is one of the few fighting games that have been created that we should all forget about, and also never speak of it again. So in my honest opinion I believe Shaq Fu or Whack Fu deserves a 2/10  and a 0/5 for it being a completely terrible game.
